Not long ago, Amelia, a now accelerated mathematics university student, used to believe in the magic of dance and how it can bring joy to a persons life. Yet, after an untimely occurrence in her life, an attached pain was left to something she do deeply loved, she had chosen to give it all up.

One day, Niamh, a whimsical, cheeky and quite mythical individual, approaches her unexpectedly, disturbing her usual study break in a cafe. There they tries to strike up a conversation that doesn't go so well so he decides to give a little push to her cold shoulder, handing over a drawing of a carnation assisted with the name 'Millie' next to it, causing Amelia to call them back to which she automatically regrets.

As she attempts to leave with their musical number just starting, she is stopped in her tracks by an old friend and dance crew member, Lily. She attempts to start a conversation but then cuts straight to the point as Amelia if she is willing to join the crew for just this weekend for a dance competition as they're missing a member, but is unable to convince Amelia as she storms out.

​

As Amelia heads towards her comfort place, Niamh follows her again to seen if they can still convince Amelia to let her guard down, asking her to follow them. They soon lead her to a garden patch filled with carnation flowers, to her surprise she doesn't recall seeing them, dropping her things to admire it. Niamh then gives her a bit of space, realising that it was now or never to convince her of the magic of dance and so they approach her as finally gets the answer to fit all the pieces together.

After taking her through the garden with carnations peaking around them, Amelia eventually let's go of that hard shell and cold shoulder and begins dancing with Niamh, having her clothes magically transform into her favourite costume from her past dancer self. As she dances through a routine that she knew off by heart from before, Niamh sees that they have achieved what they were sent there to do and they leave happy and content.

When Amelia finishes her dance she looks around to spot Niamh, yet, nothing. Finding her bag she sees the bookmark poking out of her textbook, that she bends down and pulls it out turning it over to see the message of "Millie keep on dancing, Love Mum", where she looks up and smiles with determination.

​

Back in the cafe, Lily is sitting at a table drinking some tea, looking up as she hears the door open with Amelia walking in still with the dress she just danced in, solidifying the magic Amelia had just witnessed from Niamh. They share a smile.
